How turkeys should die

So, I found out a few weeks ago, that if you get excited and forget archery fundamentals like looking through your peep sight, you can miss a turkey at 7 yards….and at 20 yards.

I got a little revenge this morning and had this guy roosted right next to my blind.  Pretty cool to hear him spitting and drumming 40 yds away in the tree before he ever announced himself with a gobble

Took all of 5 minutes for him to fly down, come visit me at 10 yds and get sent tumbling back down the hill…with a face full of Hevi-shot.  I was done at 5:45am.

I have come to realize that while I enjoy archery hunting for turkeys for the earlier season, they were just made to be shot with shoguns – plain and simple.
